A Journey to Big Sur

The coastal canyons of Big Sur beckoned, their rugged beauty a siren's call to any photographer’s photo adventure. As the sun rose, casting a golden glow upon the horizon, I set out on a journey along the iconic Highway 1. The road wound its way along sheer cliffs, revealing breathtaking vistas of the Pacific Ocean below. After an hour of serene driving I arrived at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, a sanctuary nestled within the beauty of rugged canyons and towering redwoods. The trail to McWay Falls before me, I followed it toward my goal. As I made my way along the cliffside I was met with the sight of McWay Falls, a majestic waterfall cascading from a cliff and plunging onto the beach of this pristine emerald cove. I loved my time there. As a post script, a few years later this trail and viewpoint were washed away by an enormous winter storm, and the trail has been rebuilt to a different, and I think less attractive, view. An altogether unique photo and a unique time.
